Wayfarer — SoD

Overview

Written from the facts in this map's file

Wayfarer is an extra large 144 by 144 underground map for Shadow of Death, played on Impossible difficulty with eight player colors. Only one seat can be human, and the other seven are computer controlled. There are no teams. The eight sides field Stronghold, Fortress, Tower, Inferno, Castle, Rampart, Dungeon and Necropolis. Victory requires capturing one specified town, and a player loses by losing all towns and heroes. Grass covers about a third of the terrain, with water near 22 percent, lava at 10 percent and rock at 8 percent. The author warns that the route is hard to find. Notable features include the Grail, 45 wandering Phoenix stacks, 105 mines, and 16 monoliths and portals.
