Thousand Gates — SoD
Overview
Written from the facts in this map's file
Thousand Gates is a single-player map for Heroes of Might and Magic III: Shadow of Death, set on an extra large 144 by 144 grid with no underground level. It is rated hard and is played by one human on a grass-covered landscape, with no water and no teams. The only faction in play is the Fortress, assigned to the Green player. Victory requires acquiring one specific artifact, and the hero loses if all towns and heroes are gone. The map holds three towns and a large number of wandering monsters, including many Fire Elementals, Archangels, and Sharpshooters. Dwellings offer creatures such as Angels, Golems, and Firebirds, and the map contains many artifacts, mines, creature banks, monoliths, and portals, along with ten timed events.
