The Nekrolord of War is an extra large 144 by 144 map with an underground level, built for the Restoration of Erathia version. Its author tells the story of Leondegrance, an ancient warlord who first explored the continents and united them into one kingdom, but who was never a peaceful or honorable ruler and now hates all living things. Eight colors take part, with one human seat and seven computer-controlled players, and there are no teams. The factions are Tower, Dungeon, Necropolis, Fortress, Castle, Inferno, Rampart and Stronghold. Water covers about a quarter of the map, and the difficulty is Impossible. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player loses after losing all towns and heroes. The map contains 48 towns, 65 mines and the Grail, along with artifacts such as the Spirit of Oppression and many wandering Minotaur Kings.
