The Gate of Destiny is a large underground map measuring 108 by 108, rated Hard, with four players: two human seats at most and two computer-only colors, Green and Orange. There are no fixed teams, so every side plays for itself. Red fields Stronghold, Blue fields Castle, Green fields Tower, and Orange fields Inferno. Victory comes from defeating all enemies, and a player is eliminated once all of their towns and heroes are lost. The map is roughly a sixth water, with rock and grass making up most of the rest. Its surface holds eight towns and eight heroes, along with wandering Efreet Sultans, Medusas, Ghost Dragons, and Archangels, plus a scattering of artifacts such as the Crown of the Supreme Magi and the Helm of Chaos. Mines, seer huts, creature banks, and monoliths are placed throughout, and seventeen timed events add scripted developments.
