The Gate of Destiny is a large 108 by 108 map for four players, two of them human, set in the Restoration of Erathia version and played on the underground level as well as the surface. Each side fields a different town type: Stronghold for Red, Castle for Blue, Tower for Green and Inferno for Orange, with the two computer-only colors Green and Orange. There are no teams, and the Hard difficulty setting applies. Victory comes from defeating every enemy, while a player loses by losing all towns and heroes. Rock, grass, water and rough ground make up most of the terrain, and the map holds eight towns, seventeen mines, eleven seer huts and a range of wandering monsters, including Efreet Sultans, Medusas and Ghost Dragons.
