The empire of the world — SoD

Overview

Written from the facts in this map's file

The Empire of the World is an Extra Large Shadow of Death map of 144 by 144 tiles with an underground level and a Hard rating. Its story, as the creator frames it, follows an ordinary Roman citizen who unexpectedly rises to rule the entire world. Eight players are set up, but only one can be human, and the other seven colors are computer controlled. No teams are used. Factions range from Dungeon and Conflux to Inferno, Necropolis, and Fortress, and some players control several towns types. Water covers about a third of the land, with lava, grass, and swamp at roughly eleven percent each. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and the game is lost if a specific hero falls. The map includes 45 towns, 89 mines, and the Grail, along with artifacts such as Armageddon's Blade.
