The Dragon Shadow is a large underground map for Heroes of Might and Magic III: Shadow of Death, sized 108 by 108 and set on a single underground level. It is rated hard and supports eight players, with four seats for human players and the other four held by computer opponents, and no teams are defined. Red, Blue, Tan and Green play Tower, while Orange, Purple, Teal and Pink play Dungeon. Victory requires capturing one particular town, and a player loses by losing all towns and heroes. The terrain is mostly rock, with snow and lava covering the rest and no water. Scattered across it are dragon-themed wandering stacks, 54 mines, 75 creature banks, ten monoliths and portals, and a Grail. The author describes the aim as taking the black dragons' castle before anyone else does.
