The Dragon Father — SoD

The Dragon Father is a single-player map for Heroes of Might and Magic III: Shadow of Death, set on an extra large 144 by 144 surface level with no underground. The author describes it as a quest to secure a throne with an ancient artifact, played alone on one continent that still holds plenty of danger and places to explore. Roughly a third of the map is water, with grass, lava and dirt making up most of the rest. The lone player controls a random faction and has no teams or computer opponents. Victory requires acquiring one specific artifact, while the hero loses if all towns and heroes are gone. Eight towns, a set of dragon dwellings guarded by Azure, Crystal, Faerie and Rust Dragons, and nine named dragon artifacts stand out among the map's objects.
