The Dragon Shadow is a hard, large underground map of 108 by 108 tiles, built mostly from rock, snow and lava. Eight players take part, with up to four human players, and the remaining four colors are computer-controlled. Four players use the Tower faction and four use Dungeon, and no teams are set. The goal is to capture the town called Black Shadow, the stronghold of the black dragons, before any rival does. A player loses by losing all towns and heroes. The map holds 17 towns, 54 mines, 75 creature banks, 10 monoliths and portals, and the Grail, along with 23 random artifacts and several dragon stacks roaming the land.
