Bay of Broken Ships is an expert-level, medium surface map of 72 by 72 tiles, set in a cursed bay where legend promises a reward to whoever frees the restless souls of drowned sailors. Water covers about 40 percent of the map, with dirt, swamp and sand making up most of the remainder. Two players take part, but only one can be human, since the Purple side is computer-controlled. There are no teams. Orange plays Cove against Purple's Necropolis. Victory requires flagging all creature dwellings, and defeat comes when all towns and heroes are lost. The map includes three towns, eight mines, nine creature banks and two seer huts. Wight and Mummy dwellings and several wandering monster stacks guard the way, and artifacts such as the Armor of Wonder and Talisman of Mana are scattered across the land.
