Les livres magiques is a small 36x36 Heroes of Might and Magic III map for the Restoration of Erathia version, with an underground level and Normal difficulty. Two players, both human, compete on it, each starting with a random faction, and there are no teams. The author's description frames the story as an old guard blocking access to a swamp that holds marvelous spellbooks, with a password as the only way to win his trust and avoid war. Victory requires defeating all enemies, while a player loses by losing all towns and heroes. The map is mostly subterranean, grass, dirt and rock, with about 12 percent water. Notable contents include two towns, 49 random monster stacks, 13 mines, 9 monoliths and portals, and a set of placed artifacts such as the Orb of the Firmament and the Tome of Earth Magic, plus 12 random artifacts.
