Legion is an extra large underground map of 144 by 144 tiles for seven players, with four seats open to humans and three colors run by the computer. There are no teams. The factions in play are Necropolis, Castle, Dungeon, Rampart, Tower and Stronghold. The goal is to seize the Head of Legion, which an enemy guards, and carry it back to your own territory. A player loses by losing all towns and heroes. Rock covers close to half the map and water about a third. Eighteen towns, 49 mines and 20 monoliths and portals are spread across the land, along with 13 champion stacks and 60 random monster groups. The difficulty is set to Expert.
