Le Seigneur des Anneaux — SoD
Overview
Written from the facts in this map's file
Le Seigneur des Anneaux is an Extra Large 144 by 144 map for Shadow of Death, with an underground level and an Impossible difficulty rating. The author describes it as a quest for the rings, where a player can seek the One Ring for great power or head straight to the edge of hell to stop Sauron. Five players take part, with up to four controlled by humans, and the Orange player is computer-only. There are no teams, and the factions are Fortress, Castle, Inferno, Rampart and Dungeon. Rock covers about half the land and water about 17 percent. Notable features include the Grail, the Titan's Gladius, Titan's Cuirass and Titan's Thunder, 24 towns, 67 mines and 214 random monster stacks. Victory requires acquiring a specific artifact, and a player loses by losing all towns and heroes.
