Le test des Dieux is a large underground map measuring 108 by 108, built for the Shadow of Death expansion and rated Impossible. Three players take part, with only one human seat, and the Tan and Orange colours are run by the computer. Teams are not used. The player in Blue commands Castle, Rampart, Stronghold and Fortress, while Tan has Conflux and Orange draws on Castle, Inferno, Necropolis, Dungeon, Stronghold and Conflux. Water covers about half the terrain, with grass, dirt and rough ground making up most of the rest. Victory requires acquiring a specific artifact, and the game is lost if a specific town falls. The map holds sixteen towns, twenty heroes, ten mines, the Grail, and eight named artifacts, along with many wandering monsters, guarded quests and monoliths.
