Heralands — RoE

Heralands is a large underground map measuring 108 by 108, set on a hard difficulty and built for five players, with four slots open to human players and one reserved for the computer. Players form three teams, and every faction is random. Victory requires defeating all enemies, while a player loses once all their towns and heroes are gone. Rock covers nearly half the surface, with grass, water and swamp making up most of the rest. The author describes a land thrown into chaos that must be brought back to order. Nine towns and six starting heroes are placed, and the map holds a wide mix of wandering monsters, including hydras, wyverns and diamond golems. Artifacts such as the Orb of the Firmament and the Tome of Earth Magic are scattered among 27 mines, four creature banks and 13 monoliths and portals.
