Armageddon is a large underground map measuring 108 by 108, set on Impossible difficulty for eight players, with only one human seat and seven computer-controlled colors. Teams are split into three groups, and the factions include Inferno, Castle, Necropolis, Dungeon, Stronghold, Fortress, Rampart and Tower. Terrain is mostly rock, dirt and lava, with some water and subterranean ground. The map holds 29 towns and 29 heroes, along with 53 mines, 14 monoliths and portals, and the Grail. Victory requires capturing a specific town, while losing a particular hero ends the game. The author's text, which the notes ask players to read, is tied to a story about a reluctant heroine named Anomeia.
