War of Kingdoms is a giant map for Horn of the Abyss, rated expert, spanning 252 by 252 tiles with an underground level. Eight players can all be human, split into four teams. The factions include Castle, Stronghold, Tower, Inferno, Necropolis, Rampart and Dungeon, while the Green player controls both Fortress and Cove. Half of the terrain is rock, with dirt, sand and swamp covering much of the rest, and there is no water. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player is eliminated after losing every town and hero. The map holds 28 towns, dozens of wandering dragons and phoenixes, 617 random monster stacks, and notable artifacts such as the Endless Sack of Gold and a Golden Bow.
