War Chain 3 — RoE

War Chain 3 is a large underground map for four players, each playing one of Stronghold, Rampart, Tower, or Fortress, with no teams and no computer-only colors. The 108 by 108 playing area is mostly rock and water, with grass and subterranean ground making up the remainder, and it includes an underground level. Each player begins with a hero and a town, and eight towns are placed across the map. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player loses by losing every town and hero. Among the notable features are three Zombie stacks wandering the land, 163 random monster stacks, 35 random artifacts, and a Grail. Named artifacts such as the Breastplate of Brimstone and the Helm of Heavenly Enlightenment are placed on the map as well, alongside 45 mines, two seer huts, and 14 monoliths and portals.
