Nine Sides is an Extra Large 144 by 144 map for In the Wake of Gods, with an underground level and Normal difficulty. Eight players, each leading a different faction (Inferno, Castle, Stronghold, Rampart, Fortress, Necropolis, Tower, and Conflux), can all be human, and there are no teams. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player loses by losing every town and hero. Rock covers about 38 percent of the terrain, with grass, water, and lava making up much of the rest. The map holds 22 towns, 12 pre-placed heroes, and 81 mines, along with the Grail, Armageddon's Blade, and several other artifacts. The author notes that hidden secrets are scattered across the map.
