The Uninvited Guest is an extra large Shadow of Death map, 144 by 144 tiles, with underground levels and Impossible difficulty. Eight players take part, but only one can be human, and the other seven are computer-controlled, grouped into six teams. Factions include Inferno, Stronghold, Dungeon, Castle, Tower, and Necropolis. The story revolves around a failed earlier push into the lands of a tribal chieftain, whose forces seemingly vanished in the swamps, and a new attack from the marshes. Rock, subterranean ground, grass, and water make up most of the terrain. The map holds 48 towns, 118 mines, 20 monoliths and portals, and 70 random monster stacks. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and defeat comes when all of your towns and heroes are lost.
