The Unearthed City of Aukuba is an extra large underground map for Heroes of Might and Magic III, built for the Restoration of Erathia version and rated Expert. Its 144 by 144 tiles are mostly rock, with lakes and rivers covering about 28 percent and smaller patches of subterranean ground and lava. The map supports four players, but only one may be human, and the other three are computer-controlled. Each side plays a different faction: Castle, Tower, Dungeon and Inferno. The author's story concerns recent earthquakes that opened new caverns, with a ruler gathering troops against ancient foes. Victory comes from defeating all enemies, while a player loses if a specific hero falls. Notable features include ten towns, seven heroes, and a large number of artifacts, mines and creature banks, along with wandering dragons and demons.
