Tyran — SoD
Overview
Written from the facts in this map's file
Tyran is a large Heroes of Might and Magic III map of 108 by 108 tiles on the surface, with no underground level, rated Hard. It is built around a story in which a new ruler takes the throne after his father's death and rules through cruelty, arresting those who refuse to pay heavy taxes, while most peasants and nobles flee the realm. The player must restore order, with diplomacy as a suggested tool. Two players are set, with one human player at most, and the computer-controlled Red and Blue both fight with Castle heroes. There are no teams. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and the player loses if a specific hero is killed. Grass covers most of the land and water about a quarter of it. Notable features include seven towns, 32 mines, and several creature banks, along with wandering stacks of Royal Griffins, Basilisks and Battle Dwarves.
