TORTUGA — HotA 1.6.0+
Overview
Written from the facts in this map's file
TORTUGA is a huge surface map of 180 by 180 tiles for Horn of the Abyss 1.6.0 and later, created by soundmode and rated Impossible. Its author describes the layout as a lizard-like shape pressed between two shields, meant to shelter life from larger dinosaurs. Four players share the map in three teams, with up to one human player. Red, Blue, and Tan may choose any of nine towns, while Green plays only Cove, and the three computer-only colors make up the opposing sides. Water covers about 48 percent of the land, with dirt and grass making up most of the rest. The map holds 7 towns, 40 mines, 53 creature banks, and 10 monoliths and portals, along with artifacts such as Angel Wings and Armageddon's Blade. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player loses by losing all towns and heroes.
