The World is an extra large 144 by 144 map with an underground level, set as a rendering of a world map with many continents and terrains. Rock covers about 43 percent of the surface, water about 33 percent, and grass about 10 percent. Eight players can compete, all of them human-capable, arranged into seven teams. The factions in play are Castle for two players, Dungeon, Inferno, Fortress, Necropolis, Rampart, and Stronghold. Victory comes from defeating all enemies, and a player loses once all of their towns and heroes are gone. The map holds 25 towns, 11 placed heroes, and a Grail, along with several named artifacts from the Legion set, the Sword of Judgement, and the Tome of Water Magic. Wandering monsters include a Gorgon, a Vampire Lord, and a Diamond Golem, with 61 mines and 11 creature banks spread across the land.
