The Suburbs is an extra large underground map of 144 by 144 tiles, built for the Restoration of Erathia game version and rated hard. Its author describes a war that has broken out in a Michigan river town, with the goal of defeating a villain and the rival lords around the land. Four players compete, all human-controllable, with no teams and no computer-only colors. Red plays Stronghold and Green plays Necropolis, while Blue and Pink receive random factions. The map is mostly rock and grass, with almost no water. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player loses by losing all towns and heroes. Five towns and ten pre-placed heroes start the game, and the map is scattered with mines, seer huts, creature banks, and four monoliths or portals, along with four timed events. Among the placed artifacts are the Breastplate of Brimstone and the Spirit of Oppression.
