The Suburbs is an extra large underground map of 144 by 144 tiles, played on Restoration of Erathia at a Hard difficulty for four players, all of whom may be human. Terrain is mostly rock and grass, with a sliver of water. The author describes an all-out war breaking out in the downriver Michigan area, with the goal of defeating an evil lord and the other rulers across the land. Red plays Stronghold and Green plays Necropolis, while Blue and Pink receive random factions. There are no teams. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player is eliminated after losing all towns and heroes. The map holds five towns, ten pre-placed heroes, and a large population of wandering monsters, including many Goblins, Pikemen and Hobgoblins, along with several artifacts, mines and creature banks.
