The Pestilence is a medium 72 by 72 underground map for Restoration of Erathia, playable at normal difficulty by two players, with only one human seat and a computer-controlled Tan side. There are no teams. The human player commands Tower forces in the Blue colors, while the Tan opponent fields Necropolis. The story follows the city of Stobangskite, overrun by undead, and the goal is to find the source of the infestation and retake the city. Victory requires capturing a specific town, and the player loses by losing all towns and heroes. The terrain is mostly rock, subterranean ground, swamp and lava, with a little water. Notable finds include the Grail, several powerful artifacts such as the Crown of the Supreme Magi, and wandering Power Liches and Ghost Dragons.
