The Pen and the Sword is an Extra Large underground map of 144 by 144 tiles for Restoration of Erathia, rated Expert. Eight players share it, but only one can be human, and the other seven are computer-controlled with no teams. Three players use Tower, while the others play Castle, Stronghold, Fortress, Dungeon, and Rampart. Rival wizards have started a war over their homeland, and their spells carry harmful side effects. The player must unite the lands, destroy the opposition, and locate a sister they need. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a loss occurs when all towns and heroes are gone. Rock covers about 45 percent of the terrain and water about 20 percent. The map holds 21 towns, 129 mines, and the Grail.
