The Lord of Air is a large 108 by 108 surface map for four players, with one human player allowed and the other three colors controlled by the computer. Red plays Inferno, Tan plays Necropolis, Green plays Fortress, and Purple is random, and the teams are split two against two. The difficulty is listed as hard. Victory requires carrying a specific artifact, the Celestial Necklace of Bliss, to a goal, while losing a specific hero ends the game in defeat. The land is a mix of rough ground, swamp, lava and dirt, with about twelve percent water. Thirteen towns, sixty-six mines and fourteen creature banks are scattered across it, and wandering elemental stacks, including fire, water and earth, roam the roads. Fifteen artifacts are placed on the map, along with one random artifact, five timed events and thirteen monoliths and portals.
