The Four Elements is an Extra Large 144x144 underground map for Shadow of Death, built for eight players, all of whom can be human, with no teams and random factions for every color. The author's note frames the map around the classical elements of fire, water, air and earth, with the goal of capturing Coflux towns to learn spells from each element. Water covers about a third of the surface, with rock, swamp and dirt making up much of the rest. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player loses when all towns and heroes are gone. Notable features include the four elemental tomes, the Orb of Tempestuous Fire, the Ring of Life, and the Grail, alongside 763 random monster stacks and several elemental wandering groups.
