The Forgotten Land is an extra-large, underground-enabled map for eight players, all of whom can be human, with no teams and every player fighting for themselves. The author describes a forgotten realm where rival armies clash to defend their banners, and the player takes the role of a hired leader meant to rid the land of neighbors. Each of the eight colors leads a different faction, from Inferno and Necropolis to Castle and Rampart. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player loses once all towns and heroes are gone. Water covers nearly half the 144 by 144 grid, with grass, lava, and subterranean ground making up most of the rest. Wandering Water and Ice Elementals roam in large numbers, and Red and Azure Dragons appear among the stronger guards.
