The Chosen is an extra large 144 by 144 map for Restoration of Erathia, with an underground level, set at expert difficulty. The premise is that a queen and the player have been selected to restore peace by defeating the warlike forces threatening the world, and the time allowed is 336 days. Eight players share the map, with one human player at most and seven computer-controlled colors arranged into two teams. The factions are Stronghold, Fortress, Rampart, Tower, Necropolis, Dungeon, Castle and Inferno. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and the game is lost if time runs out. Water covers about 18 percent of the terrain and rock about a third. Notable features include 39 towns, 126 mines, 26 creature banks and six monoliths or portals, plus placed artifacts such as the Crown of the Supreme Magi.
