The Challenge(SOD) — SoD
Overview
Written from the facts in this map's file
The Challenge is a medium two-player map of 72 by 72 tiles for Shadow of Death, with an underground level and an Expert difficulty rating. Two players can take part, both human, with no teams and no computer-only colors. Red and Blue each start with a random faction. Rock covers about half the terrain, with dirt, lava and grass making up most of the rest, and water is a small share. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player loses by losing every town and hero. Five towns, a scattering of wandering monsters such as Wraiths and Dread Knights, and dwellings guarded by Earth and Fire Elementals fill the map. Treasures include several named artifacts, 33 random artifacts, 26 mines and 12 seer huts.
