Texas Scramble — RoE
Overview
Written from the facts in this map's file
Texas Scramble is a hard, large 108 by 108 underground map for eight players, with one human seat and seven computer-controlled colors, and no teams. Red begins with a random faction, while the other seven play as Fortress, Dungeon, Necropolis, Inferno, Tower, Rampart and Castle. Rock covers about 38 percent of the land and water about 29 percent, with grass and dirt making up the rest. The map holds 15 towns, 59 mines, 14 monoliths and portals, 3 seer huts and the Grail, along with 79 random monster stacks and dwellings that house Giants, Devils, Red Dragons, Behemoths and Hydras. Victory requires defeating every enemy, and a player loses after all towns and heroes are gone. The starting garrisons can only hold back enemy hordes briefly, so expansion must come before attacks.
