Start of Chaos — SoD

Start of Chaos is a medium-sized underground map measuring 72 by 72 tiles, designed for a single human player at Normal difficulty. It pits a Castle player against an Inferno opponent controlled by the computer, with no teams. The map is mostly rock and lava, with some dirt and grass, and it contains no water. The author describes an evil mist rising from the east and sends the player to uncover the dark forces spreading across the land. Victory requires defeating all enemies, while the player loses by losing all towns and heroes. The map holds seven towns, one starting hero, and a number of mines, creature banks, and monoliths and portals. Among the placed artifacts are the Sword of Hellfire and the Dragon Scale Armor, and dwellings include Crystal Dragons, Pit Fiends, and Black Knights.
