Silmarillion is an extra large 144 by 144 Restoration of Erathia map with underground levels, rated Expert. It draws on Tolkien's work and casts the player against Morgoth, the Dark Enemy, and his demonic allies. Eight players share the field, up to four of them human, while the Orange, Purple, Teal and Pink colors are computer-controlled. Two teams compete, and the factions include Tower, Castle, Rampart, Stronghold, Inferno, Dungeon and Fortress. Victory requires defeating every enemy, and a player loses by losing all towns and heroes. The map holds 31 towns, 18 heroes, 108 mines and 159 random artifacts, along with the Equestrian's Gloves and Sandals of the Saint.
