Return of the Exiled is an extra large map measuring 144 by 144 tiles, with an underground level included. It follows dwarf king Ufret, who has fled after a long war against forces that looted the dwarven treasuries. He now aims to restore his realm and take revenge. Four players share the map, with one human seat and three computer-controlled colors, and no teams are set. The factions are Rampart, Necropolis, Castle and Inferno, and the difficulty is Impossible. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player loses by losing all towns and heroes. Water and rock cover most of the land. Notable features include six monoliths and portals, 91 random monster stacks, a Master Genie among the wandering creatures, and an Endless Sack of Gold.
