multiplayermayhem — RoE

A medium-sized underground map measuring 72 by 72 tiles, built for four players, each of whom is human-controlled, with no teams and no computer-only colors. Four factions fight one another: Inferno for Red, Tower for Blue, Dungeon and Fortress together for Orange, and Castle and Stronghold together for Teal. Most of the ground is rock, subterranean, snow and grass, with a little water. Victory requires defeating every enemy, and a player is eliminated once all of their towns and heroes are lost. The map holds eight towns, eight starting heroes, and 48 mines, along with six monoliths or portals. Wandering monsters are scattered across the map, and the Grail is placed somewhere on it. Artifacts include several Orbs, Tomes of each school of magic, and the Sword of Judgement.
