The Dark Sorcerer is a large underground map for Heroes of Might and Magic III: Shadow of Death, measuring 108 by 108 and played on a hard setting. Two colors take part, but only one can be human, so the other is controlled by the computer. The Red side plays Necropolis and Dungeon, while Blue fields Castle, Rampart and Conflux, and there are no teams. The map is about a mighty and nameless sorcerer who wields dark death magic as both a wizard and a necromancer, and who must be slain because he threatens the entire world. Victory requires defeating one specific hero, and a player loses by losing all towns and heroes. Rock and grass cover most of the terrain, with water making up only a small share. Expect 18 towns, 38 mines, 11 creature banks, 19 monoliths and portals, and a number of artifacts scattered across the land.
