Mines of Enroth is a large underground map measuring 108 by 108, played on the Impossible difficulty for three players, with up to two human participants and the Tan player controlled by the computer. There are no teams. Red plays Rampart, Blue plays Stronghold, and Tan controls both factions. The author's story has the Trade Guild seeking to take back control of the mines from a rival who wants to run resource production alone. Victory comes from accumulating a set amount of Crystal, and a player loses by losing all towns and heroes. Rock and grass cover most of the terrain, with water making up about 7 percent. Notable features include 83 mines, 16 monoliths and portals, 42 random artifacts, and 26 Nomad stacks wandering the map.
