Marvelous World is an Extra Large 144 by 144 map for Shadow of Death, with an underground level and an Expert difficulty rating. Up to eight players can take part, all of them human-capable, with no teams and random factions for every color. The win condition is to defeat all enemies, and a player loses once all of their towns and heroes are gone. Water covers about 28 percent of the surface, with grass, subterranean and rough ground making up much of the rest. The map is scattered with 18 towns, 102 mines, 23 creature banks, and a large number of wandering monsters, including Arch Devils and Dread Knights. Artifacts such as Angel Wings and Boots of Speed lie along the way, and the author warns that some of the rewards and dangers may be easy to overlook.
