These Nine Lakes is an extra large 144 by 144 map with an underground level, set at Normal difficulty. The author draws on the same idea as the Seven Lakes map from Heroes of Might and Magic II and asks players to attack the monster lair below to win. Eight players share the field, all of whom can be human, grouped into four teams. The towns in play are Castle, Fortress, Conflux, Tower, Inferno, Stronghold, Dungeon and Rampart. Rock, subterranean ground and grass cover most of the terrain, and water makes up about nine percent. Wandering Ghost Dragons, Arch Devils and Ancient Behemoths roam the land, and the Grail is placed on the map. A player is eliminated by losing all towns and heroes.
