These Nine Lakes is an Extra Large 144 by 144 map for In the Wake of Gods, with surface and underground levels at Normal difficulty. Eight players each take one faction (Castle, Fortress, Conflux, Tower, Inferno, Stronghold, Dungeon, or Rampart), all eight slots can be human, and there are no teams or computer-only colors. The author says the design follows a Heroes II map with seven lakes, and victory comes from defeating a specific monster in the underground. Water covers about nine percent of the terrain, with rock and subterranean ground making up most of the rest. Notable features include the Grail, 32 monoliths and portals, 137 mines, and four wandering Ghost Dragon stacks. A player is eliminated after losing all towns and heroes.
