Thousand Islands is an Extra Large underground map for In the Wake of Gods, played on Normal difficulty across a 144 by 144 grid. Its story describes a wicked sorcerer who wakes every volcano on the Norrko islands at once, burying the towns and leaving the people unsure who their enemy is. Four colors take part, with up to three human players and Purple controlled by the computer. There are no teams, and every color starts with a random faction. Rock covers about half the map and water roughly a third. The map contains 14 towns and 8 heroes. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player loses by losing all towns and heroes. Notable features include 124 random monster stacks, Water Elemental wanderers, dwellings for four elemental types, Centaur's Axe, an Endless Sack of Gold, 54 mines, and 32 monoliths and portals.
