Written from the facts in this map's file
Lord of the Ring is a large 108 by 108 map for In the Wake of Gods, with an underground level. The Great Ring of Life has been seized by evil forces, and the player must find it and destroy it. Six players share the map in four teams, with up to two human players. The other four colors are computer-controlled on Impossible difficulty. Purple plays as Necropolis, and the rest receive random factions. Water covers about 27 percent of the terrain. The map holds 21 towns, 74 mines, 45 creature banks, and the Grail. Victory requires transporting a specific artifact, and a player loses by losing all towns and heroes.
