The Invasion of the Elementalists is a large 108 by 108 underground map for Expert play. It supports eight players, with up to seven human participants, since the Orange color is reserved for the computer. There are no fixed teams. The Necropolis, Dungeon, Conflux, and two Castle players start alongside three random factions. According to the author, knightly elementals have suddenly appeared, intent on conquering everything, and the player must prevent this. Victory requires defeating all enemies, while a player loses by losing every town and hero. The terrain is mostly rock, subterranean ground, swamp, and sand, with very little water. Notable features include dwellings for Angels, Beholders, and Hydras, several artifacts such as the Pendant of Life and the Still Eye of the Dragon, and more than eighty monoliths and portals.
