四面楚歌 — SoD
Overview
Written from the facts in this map's file
This Large underground map, 108 by 108 and built for Shadow of Death, is rated Expert and supports up to six players, with at most two human seats and four computer-only colors. The title translates roughly as being surrounded on all sides, and the author describes a start in the center with enemies on every side, connected by a single road, so steady play is advised over rushing. Two teams compete, and the factions are Castle, Rampart, Inferno, Fortress, Stronghold and Conflux. Victory requires defeating all enemies, while a player loses by losing all towns and heroes. Rock, subterranean ground, swamp and grass cover most of the terrain, and there is no water. The map holds ten towns, 73 mines and 56 creature banks, plus artifacts such as the Cards of Prophecy and the Pendant of Life.
