Expanding Borders (C) is an Extra Large 144 by 144 map for Shadow of Death, with an underground level and Normal difficulty. Up to six human players can take part, split into three teams, and every player starts with a random faction. The premise is a kingdom that has outgrown its land and must take territory from its neighbors, with one alliance to help along the way. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player is eliminated after losing every town and hero. Rock covers about 30 percent of the surface, water about 21 percent, and subterranean ground another 20. The 21 towns are supported by 140 mines and 134 random artifacts, along with placed items such as the Pendant of Courage.
