The factions are Stronghold, two Towers, Dungeon, and Rampart. The story unfolds on a sweltering July day, when an archmage arrives at his summer cottage to gather the first harvest of a potent herb, only to find the harvest and his rake missing, so he and his brothers must track down the thief. Victory requires transporting one specific artifact, and a player is eliminated after losing every town and hero. Rock covers about half the terrain, with snow, water, and swamp making up much of the rest. The map includes 34 mines, 14 creature banks, 13 monoliths and portals, and four seer huts.
