Legendary War is an Extra Large 144 by 144 map for Shadow of Death, rated Expert, with an underground level. Up to eight human players can compete without teams, each controlling one of the factions Castle, Tower, Necropolis, Rampart, Stronghold, Conflux, Fortress, or Inferno. The author describes a world war in which the strongest armies unite to show their power, though every side starts on equal footing. Rock covers about 40 percent of the land. Thirty-seven towns are spread across the map, with wandering monsters such as Black Dragons and Gogs, plus placed artifacts, 91 mines, and 16 monoliths and portals. Victory means defeating all enemies, and a player loses after losing all towns and heroes.
